okay so it's my day off and its beautiful outside. yet, most of my friends are at work, or busy doing something else, or are just being flakey not returning my text, or maybe im just being a asshole and not texting the friends who probably would want to hang out. Hello! I had mixed feelings upon joining this site, as I have never joined one like it before... I'm just having difficulty meeting new people in this scary new city I find myself in. Well, what can I say. I'm a 22 year old Latin male, who recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. Why am I here? I'm not having an existential crisis (at the moment), however, I find that dating in LA is generally frustrating. I moved into a new apartment recently. It's situated between Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards, and within walking distance of me along both streets is an inviting stretch of shops, restaurants, movie theaters, and bars. Some evenings I jog through the neighborhood and observe the pulse and flow of human traffic along these streets. I think to myself that it would be rather wonderful to join that flow accompanied by someone eager to make the most of such an evening, to explore the boulevards, enjoy food and good company, and build new memories.

Art is deeply important to me. Books, music and movies are indispensable parts of my weekly diet. I love discussing them almost as much as I love experiencing them. My memory is filled to bursting with cherished moments of animated conversations at restaurants late at night, with friends and family, passionately advocating this or that movie, or book, or play, or piece of music. Just the other day I was with an old friend from film school, and we got into a conversation about "Public Enemies." (I liked it; he didn't.) We ended up talking about it for over an hour, in the restaurant until it closed and then in the parking lot after we'd been kicked out. The conversation spun out to include other movies, and the ebb and flow of our agreement and disagreement, our articulation of it, was a delight. Neither of us persuaded the other to change his mind, but I left the discussion feeling invigorated, charged, alive.

I take fitness fairly seriously. At some times it's a bigger part of my life than others. If I had my druthers I'd be out on the tennis courts every day, but realistically I can usually only play once or twice a week. Otherwise I go to the gym. I've never considered myself much of an athlete, but my older brother instilled in me a respect for physical fitness, and a desire to look good and feel good about myself. It's not something I can devote more than an hour a day to, generally. But for what you get in return, I consider that a pretty good bargain.

I'm shy. It can take time to draw me out of my shell and get me talking, but once unlocked, I'll probably talk your ear off -- not, I hope, in a boring way. I'm happy to hand off the conversational ball and be a listener as well. Good conversation, preferably over good food, is one of life's great pleasures, and I never tire of it.

I wasted some time in my 20s; I got into a rut with my job and let a few years slip by without learning much, without putting myself out in the world and exposing myself to new experiences.
